"BEFORE "
"The Design "
Inspiration was this great tweed plaid pillow I found. Tweed is such a natural material, and the plaid design is classic and traditional. What made it even more interesting was the contemporary color palatte of cream, avacado green, and soft tiffany blue. I wanted every element in the room to reference the traits of our "inspiration pillow".

"The Reveal"
Installed NATURAL grasscloth to the wall behind the king-sized bed all the way up to the ceiling for drama. The CONTEMPORARY colors are a great contrast to the CLASSIC design of the nightstands, bed, and wall art. The serence gray/blue color on the wall was the perfect backdrop for the warm woods. The sparkle of the chandelier and sunburst mirror made it a little more glamorous.
We traded in the burgundy window swag, and dingy, oversized lovesteat, for SOPHISTICATED floor-to-ceiling drapes, and a LOVELY upholstered chair and MODERN pharmacy floor lamp.
Chairs had senitmental value for the family, so we used it as the theme for the wall art. Photos of traditional, "lived-in" chairs with tons of personality made a unique collage.
We decided to carry the look into the bathroom with the grasscloth, new knobs, faucets, light fixtures, framed mirros and paint. The transformation was pretty dramatic.
CONTEMPORARY art kept the room feeling young and hip, while emphasizing our color scheme.
